The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Joaquin Davis, bolstering their receiving corps as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season. The announcement came on Thursday, following the release of wide receiver Brandon Johnson, who was quickly claimed by the Las Vegas Raiders. At just 23 years old, Davis is a second-year player from North Carolina Central University. He previously spent time with the Vikings but did not make their final roster. Now, he reunites with Brian Angelichio, the Steelers' offensive coordinator, who was formerly the tight ends coach in Minnesota. Davis has signed a one-year contract with the Steelers. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 195 pounds, he brings significant size to the position. As an undrafted free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft, he showcased impressive athleticism, running a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, along with a 10-foot-4-inch broad jump and a 42-inch vertical leap. Despite a modest college career with 489 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season, Davis hopes to leverage his physical gifts to secure a long-term role with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are looking to enhance their offensive capabilities.
